Tina Turner dead at 83: ‘Simply the Best’ singer got lucky in love 2nd time around with Erwin Bach (2023)

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: News of Tina Turner's death at 83 has stunned the world and sent it spiraling into grief. But Tina herself was never far from it throughout her life. Tina famously sang 'We Don't Need Another Hero', but after the trauma that she went through with her abusive first marriage to Ike Turner, a hero was definitely something she could use. What makes Tina's life inspiring though is that Tina was her own hero, getting herself out of a bad marriage, and out of debt, and back to the top of the charts. She did however also get the romantic hero she deserved with second husband music mogul Erwin Bach, who has been a pillar of support for Tina especially through the multiple health challenges she has faced lately. Bach is extremely successful in his own right and has amassed a fortune of reportedly $50 million by working with bands such as 'Queen' and 'Pink Floyd'.

Tina met Erwin Bach in 1985 at an airport reportedly and they soon fell in love. Their 16-year age difference (Bach is younger than Tina) didn't stop the couple from taking their relationship to the next level. By the early nineties, Tina was living with Bach at his home in Germany and subsequently, the two would move to Switzerland where they currently reside. Tina shares the secret to their extremely supportive relationship in her book 'Happiness Becomes You: A Guide to Changing Your Life for Good': "We grant each other freedom and space to be individuals at the same time we are a couple. Erwin, who is a force of nature in his own right, has never been the least bit intimidated by my career, my talents, or my fame. He shows me that true love doesn't require the dimming of my light so that he can shine. On the contrary, we are the light of each other's lives, and we want to shine as bright as we can, together."
