The CRMC Relay for Life team is having their flower sale April 1st through April 14th.Order forms and prices and can be seen at any department in the hospital, or you can print off an order form and return your order with payment to the Main Lobby to the Auxiliary or deliver your order to the Materials Management Department. You can pick up your flowers on Friday, April 28th 2017 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center underneath the Pavilion. Shout out to the Rotary Club for their support of the Imagination Library. The Imagination Library has sent out over $40,000 in books.

Reminder this is an election year for city commission, there will be 3 openings and the deadline to register is June 1st. Please encourage any well-qualified candidates to run.


The city has open positions for summer help and seasonal labor. They're also posting openings for lifeguards and concession stands workers at the aquatic center. The senior citizen advisory board, the planning commission and the library board all have openings. Go to the city's website for details.


Thank you to the community foundation. They were notified Coffeyville has been awarded $6,000 to purchase and install handicapped swings in Walter Johnson, Pfister and LeClere parks.


Park clean-up is May 21st from 2-4PM. If there is rain, the clean-up will be rescheduled for 2 weeks later.

April 9-15: National Library Week and also Amnesty Week (receive up to $5 off your fines when you come into the library and update your address and phone number, also if you have long overdue items and you bring them back all fines associated with those items will be forgiven!)


Also that week is Anytime Story Time. Kids can pick out a book and ask a library worker to read it to them.

April 11: National Library Workers Day. Be sure to show your library staff some love that day!

April 12 - Riders on the Orphan Train @ 6pm: It is a free program and open to all ages.

The library will be closed Good Friday, April 14th. They will also be closed Saturday, April 15th for carpet cleaning.

April 24th-April 29th the library will be upgrading technology to provide faster checkout and even self-checkout. The library will be closed while they do the updates, it may not take all week.

April 20th - April 22nd is the Library Foundation Book Sale.

Kendal has worked very hard to get downtown stop lights changed to stop signs. The new signs are now here and the city will begin installing them this week.


Boots and BBQ- April 22nd.


We still need a few volunteers, mostly in the morning. Looking for help with wagon rides, lunch and merchandise sales.


We can always take more vendors.

  • There will be biscuits and gravy in the morning
  • There will be a 5K at 8AM. Get with Sarah Key for more info.
  • The Car show registration will begin at 8AM.
  • There will be entertainment all day. There will be covered wagon rides, inflatables and an obstacle course.
  • Vendors will be there all day. There are still arts and crafts vendor spots available.
  • There will be BBQ from the firemen from 11-1.
  • In the afternoon, a group from Ft. Smith will be doing a Dalton reenactment.
  • On the Friday before, the high school art class will be doing 2D sidewalk chalk art on the sidewalks downtown.
  • Make sure to get a team together and sign up for the Obstacle Course, they start at 11AM. Right now there are no teams signed up! Kids can play on the course before and after the challenges.

They are still taking registrations for the Service Extension Camp through May 8th. It will be held June 12th-15th for kids 8-12 years of age. The children must be those ages during the time of the camp.

It is only $20 for 4 days of outdoor adventures, team building, nature, crafts, sports and swimming. The community service volunteers will help pay the fee for children who need it.

They are looking for people to help sponsor scholarships for children and for the charter bus costs.

They are trying to "stuff the bus." There are 36 seats and they are wanting to fill them all.

The Community Service Volunteers are hosting their Festival of Salads on Tuesday, April 11th from 11AM-1PM at the First Baptist Church on 9th and Elm.

April is sexual assault awareness month. They will be having their 4th annual Walk A Mile in someone else's shoes event on Wednesday, April 5th at 5PM. They will be meeting near the fountain downtown. They will not have the walk if it is raining. For more info call (620) 251-0030

They are teaming up with the college and will be having several activities. They will also be going into classrooms and education students of sexual assault awareness.

You will probably see kids asking for sponsors and donations, because traveling basketball season has started. The Kansas Heat team has fourCoffeyville kids that made the team. This weekend they are playing in OKC. Raiders basketball team is also fundraising and looking for $70 donations for uniform purchases. They only need 7 more jerseys. You can donate directly at Nado Alley. The sport keeps the kids busy and out of trouble.


They are very excited to host CNN on April 12th.

Easter activities coming up:

  • Edible Easter Baskets on April 11th for grades Pre-K-6th It is $5 and the deadline is April 7th.
  • Easter Egg Dying on April 13th. The kids will get a dozen eggs to decorate however they want. For grades Pre-K-6th. It is $5 and the deadline is April 11th.
  • Underwater Eggstravaganza. It is an underwater egg hunt on Friday, April 14th from 10AM-11:30, ages 5-15. There will be lifejackets on-hand and a lifeguard on duty. It is $5 and the deadline to register is April 11th.

Friday is the deadline for sign-ups for youth softball and baseball. For ages 4-16 for softball and 4-18 for softball. Late registration is the next week for $3 more.


The 25th Annual Youth Fishing Derby is Sunday, April 30th. It is free, with prizes awarded in each age division, ages 4-16. Registration is 1-1:30, official fishing time is 1:30-3 and the awards and dinner is at 3:30. The "Buddy Bobber" Derby is specifically designed for the angler with special needs: Buddy Bobbers can have someone assist them throughout the derby.


May 5th is Mother Daughter Tea Party. It is for all ages and the tickets are $6 per person.

At the ribbon cutting for the power plant, the speaker said that our staff did a great job and were able to keep the old machine working for a lot longer than it could have been. We don't give those guys enough credit, make sure to tell them great job if you see them.

Coffeyville, Labette, OK Union and Independence proms are all on April 22nd. There is free shipping on the tuxes, as long as you order at least 1 week in advance.

They have 4 new style of Western Boots in and 3 new styles of Safety Boots.


The FR Sale Rack has button-up shirts for $40, which is a great deal.

for hosting our CNN today!

Frank Hull thanked us for coming out. This weekend is the field training exercise demonstration, which is why they hosted CNN today. There will be 350 soldiers here for the exercise. If the weather is nice, they will be flying in on Black Hawks. They invite the public to come out at 3PM on Friday and 9AM on Saturday. At those times the Colonel will be briefing the public on the training exercises at those times.

They wanted to express their appreciation to the City for their support. They moved to this location in 2006 and they really love the area. It provides a lot more space for training opportunities. They also wanted to thank CCC for help this weekend providing meals and showers for the soldiers.

They are always looking for new enlistments!!
