Chase/Trivia (2)

Trivia

  • Chase is a German Shepherd.
    • He is the first German Shepherd in the series.
    • The second would be Sylvia, if she was a German Shepherd as she is also thought to be a Belgian Shepherd.
  • Chase is seven years old, making him the second-oldest of the pups, behind Everest.
  • He is best friends with Marshall.
    • He is also the only pup besides Marshall to have two roles ("Police" and "Spy").
  • Chase is approximately the fastest of the pups.
  • Chase is a bit tall for the covered part of the slide, so he has to lower his head down while going down that part of the slide.
  • Chase, Rocky, Ryder, Rubble and Tracker are the only members of the PAW Patrol with brown eyes.
  • Chase is the second character to appear in the series, but the first to speak a line.
  • In the Mighty Pups sub-series, his super power is super speed.
  • Chase was the tallest member of the PAW Patrol until Everest's debut.
    • This makes him the tallest of main six pups, as well as the tallest male pup.
  • In Season 1 and 2, Chase's fur was light-brown, but in Season 3, it was a darker brown. Starting in Season 8 and onward, his fur is now darker.
  • According to the PAW Patrol's official Instagram account, Chase was the first member to join the team. [1]
    • This is also elaborated upon in the PAW Patrol: the Movie (with Ryder saving him from an oncoming car and adopting him).
  • Chase's name is most likely a reference to a police chase.
    • In his Mighty Pup form, his name refers to a high-speed chase as he is incredibly fast.
  • In the early episodes, Chase used to say "Ready for action, Ryder sir!". The catchphrase later changed to "PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder sir!", and remained the same for the rest of the series.
  • At first, Chase was not an expert at Pup Pup Boogie, but he got better at it towards the end of the episode, episode.
  • Chase is allergic to the scents of cats, flowers, and birds. He sneezes if his nose catches or comes into contact with any of these scents.
    • Despite the allergy to birds, Chase never sneezed when Little Hootie was on his nose. This may imply that Chase is only allergic to certain types of feathers.
    • In the Moto Pups sub-series, he sneezes whenever he's by Wild or vice versa until Ryder installed a hypoallergenic filter in his helmet in the episode, "Moto Pups: Pups Save a Sneezy Chase".
    • He did sneeze (with Marshall) in the Nick Jr. Block Party short, "Yellow Block Fun Time". (In that case: Genie dust)
    • Prior to having Wild on the team, Chase sneeze can be an indicator, should a villain who uses a cat caused a mischief. (KCC or Sweetie in "Mission PAW: Quest for the Crown"
  • Chase is the first member of the PAW Patrol to have a birthday party (from "Pups Turn on the Lights").
  • Chase is the first member of the PAW Patrol to temporarily have a different job (from "Pup Pup Boogie").
  • His voice in the UK from Season 1 to Season 4 was Hayden Hunter, who also voices Gil from the Bubble Guppies. From Season 5 onwards, he is voiced by Nye James.
  • In "Pups Save a Toof", it was revealed that Chase was afraid of the dentist, just like Alex. He later got his fang pulled out in this episode. This phobia hasn't been mentioned since then, presumably having been cured by the positive experience Chase had at the dentist.
  • Chase has been first called for a mission 184 times, the most out of all of the pups.
  • Chase has been called for backup 38 times.
  • Chase has been called into action (either a first response or backup) 222 times, the most out of all the pups.
  • He was the only pup who was never excluded in missions until "Pups Save the Floating Goodways" where he was the only pup not called.
  • He and Zuma competed against each other at Pup Pup Boogie.
  • Chase was given a semi-new look in Season 2. He was given a special "Spy" gear.

  • He was first-deployed with Rocky as a duo in "Pups Save the Circus".

  • Chase is shown to be skilled in pig calling as seen in "Pups Save the Fireworks".
  • He is shown to have nausea in "Pups Save Ryder".
  • Chase's Super Spy gear appears to be a reference to both SWAT (due to their use of specialized gear) and Covert Special Forces like the Navy SEALS (know to have specially trained dogs for covert military operations and high tech gear).
  • In "Pups Save the Mayor's Tulips", Chase was revealed to have a teddy bear named "Officer Bear" as a young pup.
  • Chase cares very much for his teammates as he tends to whimper when something has gone wrong.
  • Chase is the first pup to sing a lullaby, for the mission, in "Pups Save a Bat"
  • Chase is the first pup to go on a special mission in "Mission PAW: Quest for the Crown", by guarding the Barkingburg Crown).
  • He tends to be instinctively suspicious of Sweetie. An example is in "Mission PAW: Royally Spooked", when Ryder presumes that some must be inside of the armor, Chase adds "Somebody sneaky, like Sweetie." Another examples is in "Mission PAW: Pups Save the Royal Throne", during the mission assignments, Chase says "Sweetie is always up to something. I bet if we find her, we'll find the throne."
    • This may be biased, as she trapped him in "Mission PAW: Quest for the Crown".
  • Chase is the first pup to be seen in his Air Patrol gear in "Air Pups".
  • A giant balloon of Chase was flown during the 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
    • Although he was planned to be flown during the 2020 parade, rising cases in COVID-19 caused it to be pulled before filming started. Instead, archival footage from past parades were utilized instead.
  • Chase is the last of the main six pups to become a Mer-Pup (in "Sea Patrol: Pups Save Puplantis").
  • Chase has been seen on the new version of the Noggin app icon.
  • "Pups Save a Wedding" is, so far, the only time he has shed tears, though he denied it when Rocky asked him about it.
    • This makes him, Rubble and Marshall the only members to tear up.
  • He was bitten by a gopher in "Pups Save a Robo-Saurus".
  • His Mighty Pups powers are similar to DC Comics' The Flash.
  • Thanks to the success and popularity of the franchise, Chase appears in the current Spin Master Entertainment logo, along with his best friend, Marshall.
  • He and Skye appear above the Noggin logo at the end of every episode.
  • Mikros Animation's "Top 5 Favorite Friendships" list features Chase, alongside Skye.
    • Including Marshall and Rubble, they run in to present what the show has on Nick Jr.
      • After Chase and Skye look at the viewers, he waves, which breaks the fourth wall, like other Nick Jr. characters.
  • He is not good at backflipping as shown in "Mighty Pups, Charged Up: Pups Stop a Humdinger Horde".
  • Chase is the seventh pup to stand on their hind legs, as shown in "Tracker Joins the Pups".
  • Many fans have built, downloaded or made Chase in popular online games, like Minecraft, ROBLOX, etc.
    • Minecraft: Character skin, 2D and 3D builds of him, etc.
    • ROBLOX: Decals, models, roleplays as him, avatar look alike, etc.
    • Gmod: Models
    • and so on...
  • In June of 2020, protesters associated with Black Lives Matter started criticizing shows that depict police officers. As Chase is depicted as a police pup, many thought he was associated with the behaviors of some police officers who were involved in the killing of George Floyd.
    • Many also demanded the cancellation of PAW Patrol because of this similar to how shows like COPS and Live PD were.
    • With this, this was the first time a specific character in the series was criticized by non-fans, though the show itself has been criticized in the past mostly with the lack of female pups.
  • His "Jet to the Rescue" Jet is known as the Spiral Rescue Jet and is the only jet in the special to be given a name.
  • He is very good at herding, as seen in "Pups Save a Hoedown".
  • Chase's voice actor in "PAW Patrol: The Movie" is the voice of Young Sheldon star, Iain Armitage.
  • He doesn't wear his collar when he runs away in "PAW Patrol: The Movie". (temporary only)
    • He lost his pup-tag twice. The first was in the movie when he ran away, and the second is in the episode, "Moto Pups: Pups Save a Sneezy Chase" where his tag is stolen by Hubcap, then a gopher.
  • He is the second PAW Patrol member to have a backstory as a stray.
    • The first is Rubble in "Pups Get a Rubble".
      • Unlike Rubble, Chase is the first and only member of the main Paw Patrol team to have an owner before being a abandon and found by Ryder.
        • Though, Everest had a collar (without a tag) in her debut episode, which implies she might have had a previous owner.
  • Chase may suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as seen in "PAW Patrol: The Movie", where he suffers an anxiety attack in the middle of a rescue in Adventure City and expresses a strong dislike of the prospect of going there.
    • He gets over the anxiety attack at the climax of the movie by saving Ryder all by himself without any equipment and only Ryder's words of encouragement.
  • Like Marshall's fire truck ladder, Chase's main vehicle has many discrepancies regarding it's front bumper and grill: The vehicle is either seen with the winch bumper, without it, or with the regular bumper, while the grill is either present or missing.
  • A Nickelodeon promo for Slime Cup 2022 playing the PAW Patrol hole with plush toys of Chase and Marshall called the "Dog Bone" club.
  • He can spin an inflatable ball on the tip of his tail, as shown in "Pups Save a Basketball Game".
  • Chase and the team have many outfits.
    • If you count only their main outfits (classic gear, Air Pups, Sea Patrol, etc.) they have all have 7 each.
    • Speaking of Air Pups, he's the first to get the upgrade.
  • Some episode when Ryder's in his pajamas, Ryder wears Chase slippers with googly eyes.
  • It is currently unknown as to why his original owners disowned him in "PAW Patrol: The Movie", as their names have not been revealed nor are they ever seen again by Chase but it looks like that his first owners disowned him because they didn't know how to take care of him.
  • He shares the same color as Wheeler from Rubble and Crew.

How to do well on The Chase? ›

It's All About The Target

What matters most is the target you set the chaser. The higher the target you set, the more chance you have of winning. With more players back you are more likely to set a higher target, but that isn't guaranteed. A target of 19 is approaching an even contest.

How does The Chase quiz work? ›

At the start, each player takes a turn in answering as many questions as they can in 60 seconds. Each correct answer is worth £1,000. This money goes into the player's bank. After all four players have their turn, they then take turns going against the "Chaser."

How do the chasers remember so much? ›

Each of The Chasers has the same number of neurons and brain connections as you do – it's what they do with them that makes the difference. If you spent your days reading voraciously, and revising your lists of facts for around four hours every day, your brain connections would be as active, also.

Who is the most difficult chaser? ›

For a long time, Anne Hegerty took the top spot as the hardest Chaser to beat, but now that could be changing as the newest Chaser, Darragh Ennis has beaten The Governess's win record.

How do the chasers know how much to offer? ›

How much money contestants will be offered is actually decided by the show's producers, with the amounts unveiled before the episode begins.

Fraser Cameron, who sets the questions for the competition, has revealed how it all works.
