Little is known about Tsukasa's past, but it is prevalently known that he loves Amane so far as to address him affectionately every time they meet. He recalls the expression when Amane killed him his favorite expression, to which he lovingly remarks every time the expression of fear passes along Amane's face.

However, as a supernatural, he has little rationality about keeping balance or committing his actions. He believes supernaturals should be however they want, even going forth to making Mitsuba become stronger by forcing him to eat No.3's heart. His main role is to grant the wishes of the dead, and unlike Hanako-kun, he is adamant about granting them his way. This was exemplified when Minamoto Kou brought out Mitsuba Sousuke's real wish of getting to stay with his friends, to which Tsukasa signals Nanamine Sakura to change Mitsuba's rumor to the Bent-Neck Boy at the School Entrance. He then orders Mitsuba to break Kou's neck so he would stay with him as a friend. The same case has happened with Shijima Mei, where he brought Shijima and Nene to the past where Shijima witnessed her human self lying on the hospital bed. With the wish of killing her so she wouldn't have to exist as a School Mystery, Nene stops her but Tsukasa doesn't intervene after that. It is unknown where he had amassed power that surpasses that of Hanako-kun's abilities, but due to his cruel methods of using it, several are wary of his unexpected intentions.

Similar to Hanako-kun's and Nene's situation, his human assistant is Sakura, but he holds a great deal of affection for her. He doesn't refrain from hugging or clinging to her, to which Sakura refers to him as more like a cat.

Relationships[]

Yugi Amane[]

Yugi Tsukasa/Relationships (3)

Tsukasa is Hanako's younger twin brother and the person that Hanako killed.

While Hanako feels considerable guilt over killing him, Tsukasa doesn't seem to bear any ill will towards his brother for it, though he doesn't hesitate to use it as leverage to manipulate the latter. Whenever he encounters Tsukasa, Hanako becomes overwhelmed and has been shown to cry when Tsukasa begins to remind him of the murder he committed, and Tsukasa knows he can make Hanako vulnerable by simply bringing it up.

He's always eager to meet up with Hanako, greeting him with huge smiles and hugs when he does. He had told Hanako he loves him, and once asked him to play with him again, just like they used to. Once, when Mitsuba is trying to cope with the new powers he received after eating the former No. 3 and interferes with Tsukasa greeting his brother after they run into each other in the boundary, Tsukasa reacts with slight annoyance at being interrupted.

The twins seem to have been close since they were young and often did activities together, such as watching TV and going to festivals. They are shown to be holding hands in a commemorative photo taken upon entering junior high.

As supernaturals, Hanako and Tsukasa have opposing beliefs - Hanako maintains the correct relationships between humans and supernaturals, while Tsukasa thinks anyone should just be however they want to be. In a conversation with Nene, Tsukasa describes themselves as being polar opposites and compares their current relationship to that of rivals or arch-nemeses.

When alive and younger, Tsukasa used to bring gifts to Amane when he was sick. He cared quite a lot about his brother and seemed shocked when he found out that Amane was going to die.

When Amane miraculously got better on the twins 4th birthday, Tsukasa knocks his brother over during dinner and asks him if Amane loves him, which Amane responds to with a bright smile and says, "Of course I do!" Later, despite Amane saying this, Tsukasa in the Red House tells Kou that Amane hates him, showing that Tsukasa didn't seem to take Amane at his word.

It is later revealed that Tsukasa made a wish for Amane to get better. The wish required a sacrifice, and Tsukasa offered up himself, a sign of just how much he loves his older brother. Unfortunately, their relationship only went downhill from there when Tsukasa eventually returned from the Red House. According to Hanako, he's had trouble understanding Tsukasa ever since their 4th birthday, when Tsukasa had to disappear as a consequence of the price of Amane's wish to live.

Yugi Tsukasa/Relationships (5)

During the School Festival arc, following an incident that destroyed the Big Clock located in The Sealed Auditorium that caused Hanako and Nene to be frozen in time while still keeping conscious, Tsukasa kisses Nene and kidnaps her. Hanako is shown to be very upset by this, as when Akane and Teru find him he is a blubbering, inconsolable mess that needs to be dragged to No. 1's boundary with them to save Nene.

Nanamine Sakura[]

Yugi Tsukasa/Relationships (6)

Sakura made a contract with Tsukasa and has become bound to him; similar to Nene with Hanako. She treats him like a little child and would become exasperated if he does anything unnecessarily cruel. Despite this, she cannot disobey his wishes and still aids him in altering the supernatural's rumors. She acts as his assistant, broadcasting his altered rumors to the student body.

When conversing with Nene about him, Sakura says that Tsukasa never listens to her, his actions make no sense, and he has no sense of personal space. This is then shown by Tsukasa jumping onto Sakura excitedly in an uncomfortably close hug.

She then says that there is nothing she can do about it and that she decided to think of him more as a cat than a person. Tsukasa seems to hold some respect for Sakura and will alter his actions to a certain degree once reprimanded by her.

Hyuuga Natsuhiko[]

The two of them don't get along well except when it comes to following Sakura's commands or having to work together (eg. In the Tea Party Arc where Natsuhiko asks Nene out before Tsukasa dumps water on her from behind). Natsuhiko advises Tsukasa to be more gentle to girls, just as Sakura asked of Tsukasa as well.

Mitsuba Sousuke[]

Yugi Tsukasa/Relationships (7)

Sometime after his death, Mitsuba made a wish to Tsukasa to not be forgotten by people, however, the wish was too unclear for him to be able to make anything but a weak supernatural form for Mitsuba, which he then used to haunt the school lockers in order to speak to his schoolmates.

After Mitsuba's real wish was drawn out thanks to his involvement with Kou, Tsukasa took advantage of the vagueness of the wish and twisted the rumors about him, turning him into "The Bent-Neck Boy at the School Entrance". This altered, monstrous form is more powerful but has also lost the humanity that Mitsuba once had.

Yugi Tsukasa/Relationships (8)

In the Mirror Hell Arc, it was revealed that Tsukasa had created Mitsuba using an amalgamation of body parts he found as well as part of his original soul. This newly formed "Mitsuba" has the same personality but does not retain any of the original's memory. Tsukasa then gifted him with a brand new scarf that is dark red in color. Tsukasa appeared later to save Mitsuba when he was in danger from Number 3. He also pressured Mitsuba into consuming Number 3's heart in order to gain power, trying to force it down his throat at one point when the latter refused. He seems to view Mitsuba's new power with child-like fascination, attempting to rope him into fighting Hanako three times. However, in Mitsuba's fear of knives, he attempted to sneak away and refused to fight with Hanako.

Mitsuba is a vulnerable person and Tsukasa took advantage of that all throughout their scenes together, manipulating Mitsuba into being forced to trust him, distancing Mitsuba from Kou so that Kou would not be able to remind Mitsuba of their time they spent together with the gardening photos, and gave Mitsuba an illusion of choice. Mitsuba wanted to be alive so badly, and he thought that Tsukasa was the only way to do it.

Yashiro Nene[]

It is still unclear what Tsukasa actually thinks of Nene, but he chiefly seems to use her as a tool to achieve his goals. Tsukasa has only interacted with Nene a few times, usually in the context of getting her to destroy the yorishiro. He indirectly got her to destroy No. 2's yorishiro by spreading malicious rumors to make Yako a danger to students and force Nene and Hanako to put a stop to her, he got Shijima Mei to create an elaborate fictional world for Yugi Amane and Mitsuba Sousuke that he sent Nene to and eventually lead to her destroying No. 4's yorishiro, he teleported her to No. 6's boundary in an attempt to get her to rip off Sumire's yorishiro seal, and he also stole her away to No. 1's boundary to destroy their yorishiro.

His first encounter with Nene (as far as we know) was when he was a child in the Red House. Nene formed a bond with the 4-year-old Tsukasa residing there, whom she carried around in her arms and generally treated very nicely. When Tsukasa discovered that Nene loved Amane he got really excited, remarking that she and him were just the same. After Kou tells him that Amane is going to kill him, Tsukasa decides to go back home and live with Amane. While he parts ways with Kou and Nene without saying goodbye, he was very grateful for the time they spent together, enough to want to send them a letter when he got home. Later, when Nene is briefly teleported to the past and meets the 12-year-old Tsukasa at the 1968 school festival, he tells her to come play with him again, proving he still remembers the time they shared, at least when he was alive.

Once, during their tea party, he asks her if she kissed Amane, and when she says that she hasn't he doesn't believe her and gets far too close to her, though this seemed more intimidating than romantic. In addition, when the school's time froze during the festival, he took advantage of the situation to kiss Nene. Since he hasn't otherwise acted like someone who has a crush, this was likely done just to get a reaction out of Hanako.

Tsukasa has a tendency to tease Nene. The first time he does this is when he's kidnapping her for the tea party and pretends like he's going to eat her, causing her to faint from shock. The previously mentioned instance of Tsukasa getting too close to her when she denies having kissed Hanako could also be a form of teasing, especially since he is identical to him. Also, when Tsukasa challenges Nene to a game of tag in No. 1's boundary, he says he's going to tear her arm off if he wins. Since he doesn't end up doing that, this was likely just another form of teasing.

Once, he almost tried to slam her face into the ground when she tried to stop him from forcing Mitsuba to eat a heart, he ultimately doesn't, with his reason being that he was taught to be nice to girls. Instead, he's been shown to try and put her to sleep when she gets in the way. And, when Nene turned into a toddler while he was trying to get her to destroy No. 1's yorishiro, he was repeatedly shown to get exasperated with her constant tantrums, but never violent.

In the Tea Party arc, where the Broadcasting Club kidnap Nene, Tsukasa made Sakura send Nene to The Place That Is Everywhere And Nowhere, which is where Nene had her first encounter with Yugi Amane when he was still alive. It's possible that Tsukasa coordinated this meeting, though his reason for doing such a thing is still unknown.
