Yamaha's MotoGP testing resumed at Sepang, after a brief hiatus due to a mechanical issue that raised safety concerns. The Japanese manufacturer had to withdraw from the second day of the three-day test, prompting an overnight engineering effort to find a temporary fix. Despite the setback, Yamaha was able to continue testing on the third day, with riders returning to the track with reduced power and RPM. The team's first morning back appeared seamless, with Alex Rins, Jack Miller, and Toprak Razgatlioglu completing 74 laps. Team boss Paolo Pavesio emphasized the importance of resuming testing, even with the temporary solutions in place, as they continue to gather data on their new V4 project. While Yamaha lost a day's track action, the extra days at the shakedown test and the upcoming testing in Buriram mean they are still on track to maximize their pre-season program. Pavesio highlighted the importance of identifying any issues with the new bike and achieving consistent data from the riders, which will help them set a base bike for the season.
