Once you get past the spores, you’ll come across agigantic plant mother that’s clearly the secret and the root of the issue in Strangerville.
If you’re infected, you won’t be able to fight it, and you won’t be able to communicate with it because the possessed buff will appear and your sim will leave the area. You first need to cure yourself.
The vaccine is five spore clusters and one bizarre fruit. You can buy bizarre fruit from the curio shop or nurture a bizarre plant and then harvest the fruit when it pops open. Once you’ve made the vaccine and are cured, you should be able to continue without any issues.
