Dr. Timothy Minton is the region's only fellowship trained, double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He came to Savannah to serve as physician and president of Savannah Facial Plastic Surgery, LLC, with Georgia Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists in 2015.
Dr. Minton received his undergraduate degree in biology from Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y. He went to medical college at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Minton went on to complete an additional five-year residency training in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, which included extensive training in reconstructive facial plastic surgery.
He has been a contributing author in two books and several publications on Otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery and given more than 20 presentations on these topics at various medical conferences.

Dr. Douglas Mullins received his bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary and his doctor of medicine degree from Vanderbilt. Following that, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at the University of Virginia.
Presently, he is medical director for Candler Hospital's ICU and Pulmonary Services as well as clinical instructor at Mercer University School of Medicine. He is Vice President of the Candler Hospital Medical Staff and Co-Chair of the Thoracic Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Dr. John Pablo received a bachelor's degree in biology from Tufts University and a doctor of medicine degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in radiation oncology at Emory University Hospital.
He is currently the medical director at Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion Radiation Oncology Center including the Bluffton-Hilton Head site. Dr. Pablo has extensive experience with conventional simulation, CT-based simulation, 3-D treatment planning, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and high- and low-dose image-guided radiation therapy. He specializes in prostate brachytherapy and stereotactic body radiosurgery.

Dr. Thomas Philbrick earned his bachelor's degree in zoology from Duke University and his doctor of medicine degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Following medical school he completed residencies in pediatrics and general radiology at Shands at the University of Florida.

Dr. Howard A. Zaren received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba Medical School in Winnipeg, Canada. His postgraduate training included a General Surgery Residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, and a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas System Cancer Center, M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute.
After completing his fellowship training, he became a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and was a private practicing surgical oncologist at Pennsylvania Hospital. He then went on to the Medical College of Pennsylvania where he was Tenured Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Surgery.
In 1990, he was recruited as Chair of Surgery and Cancer Center Director of Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
In 1999, he became the Chair of the Department of Surgery at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Tenured Professor of Surgical Oncology at the University of Illinois and the Principal Investigator of the Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program of Cook County. Since 1988, he has published 57 refereed articles, 93 abstracts and 11 book chapters, and has presented at Regional, National and International venues.
In October of 2008, Dr. Howard A. Zaren was recruited as Medical Director of the Nancy N. and J. C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion in Savannah, Georgia. He served as medical director until October 2020. His new role is Medical Director for Melanoma, Skin and Sarcoma services and Medical Director for Medical Genetics. He also currently serves as the Principal Investigator for the National Cancer Institute's Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP) and is a Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Cancer Scholar and Professor, Department of Surgery at Georgia Health Sciences University.
