MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (2024)

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (1)

Pathfinder is an Archer that is part of the Explorer class. She uses an Ancient Bow and is an extremely easy and fun class to play.

Pathfinder has insane mobility, great mobbing, and has abilities to resist 1 hit KO moves. Pathfinder’s kit has everything you need to do almost anything, you only need to know how.

Before You Make A Pathfinder

I have been playing a Pathfinder for a bit and have gotten it to a decent level at 236. The class is easy to use, fun to play and my new main that I will be investing in. If you’re looking to make Pathfinder your main you should know these Pros and Cons.

The Pros of a Pathfinder are amazing mobbing, high mobility and a versatile moveset.

The Cons of a Pathfinder are mainly the fact that to reach the top you are going to have to invest a lot of resources and even if you do, Pathfinder is a little low on the DPM charts.

Pathfinder Keyboard Layout

This is my keyboard layout:

The skills you’ll be using all the time are, Cardinal Deluge and Burst (Macro), Triple Impact, Cardinal Torrent, Combo Assault, Glyph of Impalement, Raven Tempest, and Swarm Shot.

When training Swarm Shot is useful for hitting multiple platforms and combining Glyph and Combo Assault clears mobs very quickly.

When Bossing you want to combine Triple Impact and Glyph for good damage. Also, use Raven Tempest and Ancient Astra together to keep your gauge at maximum.

Pathfinder Hyper Stats Guide

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (4)

The best Hyper Stats for Pathfinder Bossing are, in order, Damage, IED, Boss Damage, Critical Damage, Dex. Critical Rate isn’t that important since you should have a high Critical Rate already with Sharp Eyes and some Links/Legion. If you don’t have 100% Critical Rate you might want to consider Critical Rate.

If you aren’t looking to boss that much early on and you want to grind levels consider Damage, IED, Bonus EXP/Arcane Force, Critical Damage, Dex. This is because one-shotting mobs is super important so you need the damage and penetration to get the job done. Arcane Force isn’t really necessary but if you want to accelerate your Arcane Force training you can get this and then reset your Hyper Stat Points.

Pathfinder Shared Cash Shop

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (5)

When it comes to the Cash Shop, the characters that are of the sameRacecan share NX Items and Cash Shop Items with each other.

Pathfinder is part of the Explorer Race and has a shared Cash Shop with –

  • Paladin
  • Dark Knight
  • Hero
  • Ice/Lightning Mage
  • Fire/Poison Mage
  • Bishop
  • Marksman
  • Bowmaster
  • Night Lord
  • Shadower
  • Dual Blade
  • Cannoneer
  • Buccaneer
  • Corsair
  • Jett

Pathfinder Leveling Guide

Training a Pathfinder is incredibly easy because of your skills being able to spread out and hit targets far away from you. The main skills you’ll be using to train are

As for where to train, there are a ton of guides online and since they are always changing you should find what works for you. The ideal maps for Pathfinders are ones that are small and condensed where you can hit the whole map without much movement. For example, maps like Goblin House, Cavern Lower Path (CLP), and Corridor 203 are great maps to be at.

A general training guide I like to follow is this link.

Pathfinder Best Weapon, Secondary and Emblem Optimization

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (6)
MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (7)
MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (8)

To be strong you want your Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, and Emblem to be as close to perfect as possible.

1 line Boss Damage %

1 line Ignore Enemy Defense %

7 lines of Attack %

If you are in Reboot you aren’t going to need as much boss lines since Attack rates are inflated. If you aren’t in Reboot you will replace a line of Attack % with a Boss Damage % line.

Ideally, you want a spare Secondary or Primary Weapon with Boss Damage and the other with all Attack %, because Boss Damage does nothing for you while you’re training.

It is incredibly hard to get perfect lines so please don’t throw all your Mesos into one item trying to get it to perfect stats. Work on getting all your gear to a starting point before making big changes.

The best way to maintain the most stats while cubing is to get all your gear to have 1 Attack line. Then get one piece to 2 lines of Attack. After that, get another gear to 2 lines of Attack. Repeat this process till your gear is perfect!

The Boss Soul you should have is a Magnificent Soul with Attack %. This is a tier list for theBest Magnificent Soul.

Pathfinder Perfect Nodes and V Matrix Guide

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (9)

When it comes to Boost Nodes you are going to need 6 slots. This is a class that uses a lot of moves so you are going to need to be around level 250 to fully fit all the skills you’ll need.

The most important trio of Boost Nodes that you should prioritize leveling up is, Torrent/Burst/Deluge. If you have 3 different perfect sets and you aren’t at max level, it is worth using all 3 as your damage will skyrocket.

The next 6 skills that are used can be mixed and matched however you like. They are, Swarm Shot, Combo Assault, Ancient Astra, Triple Impact, Shadow Raven, Glyph of Impalement.

The other skills you want in your V Matrix are Raven Tempest, Nova Blast, Vicious Shot, and Holy Symbol/Obsidian Barrier.

Pathfinder Legion Effect

Pathfinder’s Legion effect is a flat Dex increase.

Pathfinder Link Skill

Since Pathfinder’s are Explorers they are part of Adventurer’s Curiosity.

6Critical Rate +10% and Monster Collection Chance +35%

Having 3 Bowman (Bowmaster, Crossbow Master, Pathfinder) at level 120+ will give you a max level of 6.

  • Level 70-119 gives you 1 level
  • Level 120+ gives you 2 levels

Pathfinder Best Inner Ability

When it comes to Pathfinder the best Inner Abilities for damage and DPS are +1 Attack Speed, Boss Damage, +1 Mob Hit for prime lines and a mix of Attack, Critical Rate, Boss Damage, or Meso/Drop rate.

Pathfinder benefits from +1 Mob Hit because that will give extra final damage to Deluge. The 2nd and 3rd line pretty much depend on what you need. I would recommend Attack and Boss Damage but if you need a little bit of Critical rate to hit 100% thats fine too.

Drop/Meso lines aren’t the worst either but should only be gotten if you play to farm a lot on your Pathfinder.

Pathfinder Hyper Skills Guide

Pathfinder’s passive skills are a hard choice since they are all pretty good. Personally I think the best Passive Skill Boosts are :

  • Cardinal Force – Reinforce
  • Cardinal Force – Bountiful Enhance
  • Cardinal Force – Extra Strike
  • Ancient Force – Boss Rush (Guardbreak if you aren’t bossing)
  • Ancient Force – Enchant Enhance

Pathfinder 5th Job Max Order

When it comes to 5th Job, you want to make sure to max out your perfect boost nodes. Pathfinder’s perfect boost nodes include:

  • Cardinal Deluge and Bountiful Deluge Boost (Important, get to Level 60)
  • Cardinal Burst and Bountiful Burst Boost (Important, get to Level 60)
  • Cardinal Torrent Boost (Important, get to Level 60)
  • Ancient Astra Boost
  • Combo Assault Boost
  • Glyph of Impalement Boost
  • Shadow Raven Boost
  • Swarm Shot Boost
  • Triple Impact Boost

When it comes to other 5th job actives, you’ll want to level up,

Decent Holy Symbol, Vicious Shot, Decent Speed Infusion, Guided Arrow, Decent Advanced Blessing, Fury of the Wild ,Nova Blast, Raven Tempest, and Obsidian Barrier.

Since maxing skills for the 5th job are highly dependent on farming nodes, make sure either have a farming character or have drop gear on your Pathfinder.

Pathfinder Solo Bossing Guide

This section will be about how to Solo Hard Bosses. Although it is way easier to do these Bosses with someone else, you get more money and are able to offer carries if you know how to solo them. If you queue up for any Boss, you will get a bonus damage buff for that specific boss so make sure to queue up in your Boss Tab if you can.

If I do not include any specific Bosses, it is because they are straightforward and there isn’t much to comment on. For example, Damien is pretty easy to understand and the only thing you might need to know is in the 2nd phase those Big Balls reduce your damage by 90%, soo stay away from them.

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (14)

Lotus can be hard if you don’t know how the Boss works. I really suggest you take advantage of Practice mode and learn how to deal with Lotus. If you have a laggy setup make sure to use Obsidian Barrier (Deluge) right before you enter. Sometimes when you go in the laser will be right on top of you and instantly kill you. Obsidian Barrier will prevent this since it allows you to survive 1 hit KO moves.

Another super useful thing is the use of Cardinal Torrent. You can use it to teleport past the lasers. BUT BEWARE, you can only do this while standing right next to the laser. If you try to teleport while further away, you will die. Practice the positioning and make sure you get it perfect. If you use this tactic make sure to keep using Raven Tempest and Swarm Shot to deal with the Bots.

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (15)

Hard Hilla is a breeze once you can burst her down in one bind. The problem is, if you can’t burst, this boss is impossible to solo. The reason being, her cage which locks you in place and heals Hilla while you are locked. This cage cannot be cleansed and you only get out of it when you die from having your HP sapped.

If you’re a Pathfinder I suggest you completely buff before you go in then use Nova Blast, your I-frame skill, immediately upon jumping towards her. Hard Hilla can use her cage as soon as you enter so you use Nova Blast in order to avoid that. After your Nova Blast you spam your stun skill then proceed to burst her down.

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (16)

I find Crimson Queen to be incredibly annoying due to her constant burn damage. She uses this move, To Ashes as soon as she can. If you want to avoid the first tick, use your Nova Blast and then bind her after. This way you won’t be burning while doing your DPS. If you die because of the burn, please wait to respawn until she rotates out of To Ashes.

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (17)

Another annoying boss in the CRA set. Pierre can be super easy once you can burst him down in one bind but if you’re trying to solo as early as you can, you will struggle a bit. The reason he is so tough is due to his ability to split into 2 clowns when below 30% HP. If you get to this stage without bursting him down you have to kill both clowns at the same time in order to clear it. This is super hard to do because you will have a Hat which heals at least one of them. The best thing to do at this point is to die and come back without a hat, use Awakened Relic and Nova Blast for a huge burst.

MapleStory Pathfinder Class Guide – All You Need To Know | The Digital Crowns (18)

Since the Gollux rework he has been a tough Boss to deal with. Gollux has gained a ton of HP and slightly bigger hit boxes but if you’re a Pathfinder, Hellux should be no problem for you! In the first stage just make sure you watch out for the Hand and Purple/Pink Breath. Cardinal Torrent is your best friend when doing Hellux. When you get to the second stage with the platforms all you have to do is Cardinal Torrent upwards when you see the Hand. Make sure to use Swarm Shot every couple seconds!! This will allow you to clear the little rocks on the bottom while never having to move. Swarm Shot will even reach the bottom when you are doing the 3rd Gem stage.

Since Pathfinder is an explorer class, you can most likely job-change from Bowmaster/Marksman. I can only assume so since it works for Dual Blade and Cannonneer as well. So if anybody has an old Explorer Bowman they're tired of they can rejoice. Bonus: We now finally have 3 explorer paths of every job type!
