Overview
When you start Quicken, it opens the last data file you used. You can work with only one data file at a time.
Note: If you're looking to restore a backup, follow the instructions in this FAQ.
Instructions
To work with a different data file during a single Quicken session:
- Choose File menu > Open Quicken File.
- Note: Quicken displays the folder containing the current data file (the Quicken folder by default). If you need help determining where another data file is, Quicken can help you find a file.
Don't open data files in the BACKUP folder. They need to be restored, and they may not contain current information.

- Select the file you want to open, or enter the name of the file in the File name field.
- Click OK.
