Hold on to your hats, folks, because Glen Powell's SNL hosting debut is already making waves, and not exactly in the way he planned! In a recent promo video, the Running Man star showed off his dance moves, channeling a bit of Christopher Walken, but with a hilarious twist. The video, released on November 12, 2025, features Powell taking on some impressive choreography to Baptiste Thiry's "Action Call." He starts with a radio announcement that he will be hosting Saturday Night Live. Powell then gets up and starts dancing, reminiscent of Christopher Walken's iconic routine in the Fatboy Slim "Weapon of Choice" music video.
Powell, known for his action roles in films like Top Gun: Maverick and his upcoming film The Running Man, is no stranger to elaborate sequences. He's seen stepping on seats, moving on a dolly, and navigating the backstage platform.
But here's where it gets controversial... or at least, funny. As he walks through the door onto the stage, a forward flip goes horribly wrong. The actor loses his balance and, well, let's just say it's not pretty!
"Don't. Tell. Lorne," he whispers to Sarah Sherman and Andrew Dismukes as he's wheeled out of Studio 8H on a stretcher.
This SNL gig marks Powell's first time hosting the show, with Olivia Dean as the musical guest. Powell also recently starred in Hulu's Chad Powers. He follows comedian and Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser, who hosted the November 8th episode.
In The Running Man, Powell plays Ben Richards, an unlikely hero challenging a Network-owned society in the latest film adaptation of Stephen King’s novel.
What do you think of Powell's SNL promo? Do you think he'll bring the same energy to the show? Share your thoughts in the comments! Is this a sign of great things to come, or a hilarious preview of potential on-stage mishaps? Let's discuss!
