In an exclusive interview with Esports Insider at the 2026 Americas Kickoff pre-event press conference, G2's IGL, Jacob 'Valyn' Batio, revealed the truth behind JonahP's removal. It was a sudden, unexpected decision, one that left many fans and analysts scratching their heads.
"We're always striving for improvement, and this Offseason was a whirlwind. It was a decision made in the heat of the moment, and I think everyone can agree it came as a surprise. We felt the need to bring in a fresh perspective, especially regarding the mental aspect of the game, which we believed was lacking at international events."
Enter Andrej 'babybay', a player with a unique skill set and a strong mental game. "Last year had its ups and downs. We performed well at times, but Champs [Champions Paris] was a bitter disappointment. We're aiming for that top spot, and we believe this decision could be the key. It was tough letting JonahP go, but we're hopeful for the future."
