Bjorn Keller here, I thought I’d shed some light on why the show was cancelled. Contrary to what some articles suggest, the shows cancellation had nothing to do with unhappy community members not liking how to show prorated McCarthy. There were undoubtedly multiple reasons for the cancellation, but the biggest reason I’m aware of is that shortly after season four aired, there was some upheaval in management at Discovery. One or more higher ups who would have gone to bat for season five were fired/left, and when it came time to re-up shows, Edge bit the bullet so to speak.…Read more »

Thanks for the update Bjorn. Who is running the town now? Did Neil Darish ever sell all his property? Did you and your Dad get the hay field planted?

I thoroughly enjoyed the four seasons of Edge of Alaska. There is a part of me that would love to live the way these people live. Some things I just don’t think I can do without. No season 5?

This is a great intriguing show with interesting characters. To cancel the show says a lot about Discovery plus. Let’s keep watching the same old same old shows. Many other Alaskan shows have been cancelled. I will be cancelling.

I agree with others. I found this show by accident and have watched every episode. I love , love, love the way the show is laid out and how everyone’s lives are discussed. I wish they would bring this show back. I love the characters, especially Jenny & her son and Jeremy and his family.
