Breaker Blade (12)

The Breaker Blade is a Hardmode broadsword. It is currently the third largest sword in the game, giving it a great melee reach. It has a 12.5*1/8 (12.5%) / 25*1/4 (25%) chance to be dropped by the Wall of Flesh. On Breaker Blade (13)PC, Breaker Blade (14)Console, Breaker Blade (15)Mobile, and Breaker Blade (16)tModLoader, it will also deal +150% damage to enemies with over 90% health.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Tips[]

  • The Breaker Blade fares well as a "first hit" weapon for entering combat, as enemies above 90% health will take +150% damage.
  • In tandem with the Feral Claws or an upgrade of it, the Breaker Blade becomes an effective weapon due to it gaining autoswing and even higher knockback. Its knockback will be boosted to the point where enemies can be juggled in midair; on the other hand, this makes it very difficult to hit a target multiple times without chasing them down.
  • Due to the Breaker Blade's massive range and relatively high knockback, it is a good choice for use if the player is being swarmed. This can be relatively common during early Hardmode, and gives the player enough time to properly prepare or run away.
  • As knockback is multiplied by 1.4 on a critical hit, having modifiers that increase the player's crit chance makes the weapon extremely capable of knocking back enemies.
  • Because of its slow swing, the Breaker Blade can hit the same enemy multiple times in a single swing, somewhat compensating for its slow use time. However, its aforementioned knockback makes it unlikely for this to occur unless the enemy is cornered.
  • The Breaker Blade's reach is especially useful for gathering Glowing Mushrooms in compact farms.

Trivia[]

  • The Breaker Blade is a reference to the Buster Sword from the game Final Fantasy VII, wielded by the protagonist Cloud Strife. The resemblance can be seen in the synonymous naming (Breaker Blade/Buster Sword), and the weapon's similar designs, including its red handle, very large size and wedge shape, and the two red and green spots near the base of the blade, which reference Final Fantasy VII's "Materia" orbs that can be inserted into weapons.
    • The spots being red and green means that in the Final Fantasy VII, they would respectively be "Summon" and "Magic" materia.
  • The Flying Dragon sword is also very large, actually surpassing the Breaker Blade in terms of image area, although it is held higher up the handle when used, therefore not surpassing it in overall swing distance. The hitbox extends negligibly farther horizontally by about a pixel, but falls short in vertical distance.
  • The Keybrand can be seen as the opposite of Breaker Blade in terms of bonuses to damage output: the Breaker Blade deals more damage to enemies that are at full health, while the Keybrand deals more damage to enemies that are below full health. Fittingly, both are references to swords found in franchises by Square Enix.
  • It is the third largest sword in the game, only behind the Volcano and the Blade of Grass.

History[]

  • Desktop 1.4.0.1:
    • Now deals double damage to healthy (above 90% HP) enemies.
    • Damage increased from 39 to 43.
    • Use time decreased from 30 to 29.

Magic Weapons

As an expert and enthusiast, I don't have personal experiences or beliefs. However, I can provide information on the concepts mentioned in the article you shared. Let's break it down:

Weapon items

Weapon items are objects that can be used to inflict damage on opponents in various contexts, such as video games or real-life combat. They can include melee weapons, ranged weapons, magic weapons, and summoning weapons.

Broadswords

Broadswords are a type of melee weapon characterized by their wide, flat blades. They are typically used for slashing and cutting attacks.

Drop items

Drop items are items that are obtained as a result of defeating enemies or completing certain tasks in a game. They are often randomly dropped by enemies and can include weapons, armor, consumables, or other useful items.

Melee weapons

Melee weapons are weapons designed for close-quarters combat. They are used to deliver physical attacks directly to the target, typically without the use of projectiles or ranged attacks.

Hardmode-only items

Hardmode-only items are items that become available or are more commonly found in a game's "hardmode" phase. Hardmode is a term used in some video games to describe a higher difficulty level or a new set of challenges that become available after certain conditions are met.

Items of rarity 4

Items of rarity 4 are items that are classified as being of a certain rarity level in a game. Rarity levels are often used to indicate the relative scarcity or power of an item. In this case, rarity 4 suggests that the item is relatively rare or valuable.

Breaker Blade

The Breaker Blade is a specific weapon mentioned in the article. It is a Hardmode broadsword in the game Terraria. It is currently the third largest sword in the game and has a chance to be dropped by the Wall of Flesh, a boss enemy. The Breaker Blade deals more damage to enemies with over 90% health and has a long reach.

Legendary modifier

The article mentions that the Breaker Blade's best modifier is Legendary. In Terraria, modifiers are additional attributes or effects that can be applied to weapons and other items. The Legendary modifier is one of the highest-tier modifiers and provides significant bonuses to the weapon's damage and other attributes.
