David Perpich is the publisher of The Athletic and Wirecutter, which are standalone subscription products of the Company, since February 2022, and he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of The New York Times Company since 2019.

Mr. Perpich previously served as the head of standalone products at The New York Times Company from 2020 to February 2022, where he oversaw Games, Cooking, Wirecuttter, Audm (our read-aloud audio service), and the exploration and incubation of a how-to product for kids.

Previously, from 2017 to 2020, Mr. Perpich served as president and general manager of Wirecutter, leading all aspects of the business and editorial operations of the product-recommendation site that was acquired by the Company in 2016.

From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Perpich served as senior vice president of product for the Company, where he was responsible for overseeing The Times’s digital product portfolio across mobile and web products.

From 2013 to 2015, he served as general manager, new digital products, where he oversaw the development and launch of new subscription products. From 2011 to 2013, he was vice president, product management.

Mr. Perpich joined The Times in 2010 as executive director, NYTimes.com paid products. In this role, Mr. Perpich helped lead the development and launch of The Times’s online subscription business.

Mr. Perpich came to The Times from the management consulting firm Booz & Company, where he was a member of the firm’s consumer, media and digital industries practice, focusing on growth strategy. He previously founded and ran two companies, both in the music industry, and he held roles in product management and business development at About.com, then a New York Times Company property.
