ARCAM Unveils the Radia Series Loudspeakers: A Legacy of Audio Excellence
British audio pioneer ARCAM has unveiled the Radia Series loudspeakers, marking a significant return to speaker design. This new lineup, which made its global debut at ISE Barcelona, offers a comprehensive solution for both music and home cinema enthusiasts. The Radia Series includes two bookshelf models, a center channel, a subwoofer, and two floor-standing speakers, all designed to seamlessly integrate with any high-quality hi-fi or home theater system.
ARCAM's journey in loudspeaker design dates back to 1985 with the introduction of the iconic 'ARCAM Two' bookshelf speakers. More recently, they crafted the Muso powered loudspeakers. Now, with the Radia Series, ARCAM combines their five decades of audio engineering prowess with HARMAN's advanced research and testing facilities, ensuring exceptional performance.
The Radia Series also includes three AV amplifiers and an AV processor, enabling fully integrated multichannel sound systems. Mike Strange, Global Product Line Manager at ARCAM, expressed his pride in the launch, emphasizing the speakers' seamless integration with ARCAM amplifiers and AV products, while also excelling with any high-quality system.
Design-wise, the Radia loudspeakers embody the established Radia aesthetic, featuring a subtle yellow accent and premium Black Walnut wood veneer cabinets. Magnetically attached grilles provide a clean front profile, while optional solid aluminum stands are available for the bookshelf models. The speakers work effortlessly with other-brand electronics, but when paired with ARCAM's SA35 or SA45 streaming amplifiers, they can be fine-tuned via ARCAM's anechoic EQ (AEQ) for optimal performance.
The cabinets are rigidly cross-braced for stability and control. All five passive loudspeakers feature a 25 mm (1-inch) DCC aluminum dome tweeter mounted in an Acoustic Lens waveguide, enhancing dispersion and phase alignment for a more even sound across the listening area. Low- and mid-frequency performance is handled by Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC) cone woofers, chosen for their stiffness and low mass.
The Radia Series offers a range of models to suit various needs:
- R15: The entry-level bookshelf speaker with a two-way crossover, combining a 25 mm DCC aluminum dome tweeter and a 130 mm MCC cone woofer.
- R25: The largest bookshelf model, featuring a two-way crossover, a 165 mm MCC cone woofer, and the same 25 mm tweeter. Its larger cabinet supports extended low-frequency response.
- R25B: A subwoofer with a 750-watt digital amplifier and a 250 mm coated fiber-composite cone woofer for deep, controlled bass.
- R35C: The center channel speaker, engineered for natural low- and mid-range presence and precise imaging, with a 25 mm DCC aluminum dome tweeter and two 130 mm MCC cone woofers.
- R35: A compact floor-standing speaker with a three-way crossover, delivering precise imaging, balanced bass, and clear midrange.
- R45: The ultimate floor-standing speaker in the series, featuring a three-way crossover, three 165 mm MCC cone woofers, and a 25 mm DCC aluminum dome tweeter.
The Radia Series loudspeakers are set to be available from authorized ARCAM dealers in Q2 2026, with products expected in stores by May. Canadian pricing will be determined by Erikson Consumer, the exclusive Canadian distributor for ARCAM.
